Farming & Agriculture Skid Steer Work

Ozark, Nixa, Springfield, or Rogersville

Skid steers have countless abilities, functions, and attachments for agricultural applications. While they are most often employed to load and move dirt, debris, and other materials, their functions are almost limitless when completing daily and annual farm jobs.

How can a skid steer help ‘get it done’ for smaller farming operations?

Big farms usually have the needed equipment, but skid steers are the perfect workhorse for smaller farming operations, farmsteads, vineyards, and homesteads.

A skid steer loader, also known as a skid loader or compact track loader, is a versatile machine that can be used for many tasks on a farm. They’re big enough to handle and stack large round bales and small enough to get into fairly tight areas.

Skid steer attachments often used for our agricultural customers include mowers, grapples, mulchers, rakes, pallet forks, tillers, trenchers, bale grabs and bale spears, and water delivery systems.

Here are some common tasks for which we are frequently hired on a farm:

Road Maintenance & Snow Plowing

Skid steers can grade and maintain roads around a farm, including smoothing paths and removing potholes. In the winter, a skid steer with a snowplow can clear snow from the roadways.

Earthmoving & Fieldwork

A skid-steer loader is a convenient tool for planting, clearing land, preparing soil, and performing other tasks in your fields. It allows you to load and move dirt, debris, and other material with ease.

Seeding & Fertilizing

A skid steer equipped with a seeder or spreader attachment helps lay down seed and fertilizer, setting the stage for a healthy and successful growing season. A skid steer equipped with a digger attachment can create holes of the perfect size and shape for your plantings, eliminating the need for a shovel.

Hay Bailing & Handling

If you grow hay on your farm, a skid steer can assist with hay cultivation and management. If you buy hay, the skid steer can transport the bulky and heavy bales and bags. Due to its smaller size, a Skid Steer maneuvers easily in the tight confines of a barn.

Water Management

Use a skid steer to create ditches to improve drainage and maintain crop yield. Use a skid steer to create levees based on elevation survey data.
